Diversity and Digital Marketing improvement at Mobile World Congress 2018:

Second year in a row Diversity4tech.Science attended the Mobile World Congress to bring you the scoop about all the latest in technology, digitalization, gadgets, mobile, apps, and this year the focus was on AI; you know Artificial Intelligence.

GSMA chose again the culturally rich and intriguing cosmopolitan city Barcelona for this year edition and it is confirmed also for 2019. If you are an engineer, software developer, buyer, salesperson, writer, marketer, student, technology enthusiast, influencer, or just a fan, just hang out here a little bit more to learn more about the latest technology revealed at Mobile World Congress. More pictures here.

Various latest technology at Mobile World Congress 2018:

Just like previous editions, there were over thousands of exhibitors, companies from across the globe to reveal their latest technologies to the public. As pointed out before, AI was the central piece this year, from smart cars to robots, and from chat bots to smart houses and virtual games with real life motions (simulations). What is more, everywhere you could hear that 5G is coming, and we the public and government should get prepared and embrace the fast pace of technology development. So, it is a fact, 5G will be executed soon! 5G will allow us to get information faster and be better connected including connection between devices, IoT.

This year the three main things in technology revealed were Artificial Intelligence ( AI ), 5G, and Internet of Things (IoT). These were the main focus at this year Mobile World Congress. We documented some on video to share with you, just watch below live video’s to enjoy a piece of the technology madness at MWC18. More pictures here.

Diversity at Mobile World Congress 2018:

Also, this year the Women4Tech Summit was taken place, for the second time at Mobile World Congress. This full-day program is designed for women to include them and promote their involvement in technology and mobile. As for diversity inclusion as a whole at the congress, there was no difference from last year. The organizer GSMA is bias when it comes to diversity in terms of gender and ethnicity. It was striking that still at the seminars, the keynote speakers and the representatives/executives of companies, more than the majority was male and white. Just like it was stated at the Women4Tech Summit, ‘Diversity drives Innovation’, we support this thought and expect to see this change being implemented at the congress. Read more about the Women4Tech Summit in the next blog post.
